amy and dan - shade hotel, manhattan beach

With the backdrop for this event set at Shade Hotel, we had to go with a more modern feel for this black and white wedding...black candelsticks were topped with pomander balls of white carnations, china mums, roses or white gerber daisies with black centers...a clean and simple canopy for the ceremony was constructed from black bamboo poles set in bases wrapped in black dupioni silk and filled with fluffy white hydrangea, black dahlias and monstera leaves that we painted black.
To keep some touches of femininity, we added a black rhinestone brooch to the Bride's all white bouquet, a rhinestone buckle to each menu card and black crystals to some mounted walls vases already existing inside the hotel. For a splash of playfulness, all boutonnieres were accented with a curly monkey tail and a black and white polka dot feather...
The Bride rented a photo for her guests to take snapshots in throughout the night...these are ALWAYS a hit and even though i am seeing them everywhere now, photobooths never get old! People's true personalities come out inside and it's quite interesting to see what kinds of photos you are left with at the end of the night!
Elegant Designs handled all of the black satin napkins and black chiavari chairs...Amy Thielig worked her magic and captured the day beautifully...
