a mockup for a wedding at the london hotel, west hollywood

this is a table mockup we did for today's wedding, taking place at the london hotel in west hollywood...the linens and chiavari chairs are going to be white and we have custom made all the gray and white "chain link" runners...

each table will have a combination of white ceramic pieces filled with white, eggplant, plum and gray theme flowers...so pretty for fall but also inspiring for a winter celebration!

i have to give it up to mr. haack, who took all the gorgeous photos, including the 2 below of my favorite girl in life - thank you ryan!!

a vibrant winter wedding shoot

as the days of winter are winding down, i figured i didn't have much more time to blog this little shoot (which actually took place january of 2010!!)...i am headed to big bear tomorrow where the snow is about 3 feet deep right now so i thought the timing of this post was perfect...

last year, jesi hack and jessica claire wanted to collab on a fun, vibrant shoot in the snow...something bright and playful to perk you up on a bleak winter day...so jesi and i decided on kelly green, yellow, turquoise and a touch of fuschia...

we painted two of my chairs yellow and covered the seats with white cableknit sweater material, then added a turquoise pillow for another pop of color...

for the bouquet i used black/white anemones, fuschia peonies and yellow craspedia...

jesi styled the bride with that beautiful fuschia scarf and some turquoise knit boots!

i wrapped all the vases in some old turquoise and kelly green cableknit sweaters i found at a thrift store...just cut the sleeves off and they slide right on! we also found that rad deer head candleholder at the thrift store and jesi loved it so much she still has it sitting on a shelf in her own home...

i adored all the playful paper goods that jane created...how cute is this little guy jumping in the air?

the arrangements were made up of gardenia foliage, black/white anemones, navy privet berries, gray eucalyptus pods and some cool yellow felt balls that jesi made...

melody's cake was stunning - i loved, loved, loved that unique and feminine shape!

for some added texture, i used a frayed white cableknit sweater sleeve to wrap my bouquet stems...

thanks to everyone who helped make this shoot so amaze:

jessica claire for the bee-yoo-tee-ful photos
jesi haack for her design savvy - girl's got skills
jane from olive hue paper for the adorable printed materials
melody from sweet and saucy shop for the gorgeous cake

a winter tablescape with silver succulents

we designed this tablescape for a holiday party being held in the beautiful backyard of an orange county home...because it was december they chose to tent the dinner area which led to a cozy but sophisticated environment...

color story: slate gray, silver, chocolate brown and tons of crisp whites
style profile: cool and modern while staying sparkly and festive
elements: white grapewood branches, silver succulents, white candlesticks, mercury glass votives, faux snow, wood boxes, white ceramic, silver beaded trim, gray and white florals

we started with a wood table and white chiavari chairs...set down the length of the table was a killer white and gray chain link runner that we made from fabric we found in downtown LA...set on top of the runner was variety of decor items to give the guests A LOT to look at...

packed into brown wood boxes and white ceramic vessels were white roses, hydrangea, tulips, lisianthus and ranunculas, broken up by gray dusty miller and gray kochilla...silver beaded trim was added to each container to add a bit of festive sparkle...

we spray painted grapewood branches white and succulents silver to give us a contrast and also a lot of texture on the table...

every napkin was wrapped in sparkly beaded trim with a silver succulent accent on top...

spray painting succulents is a super easy (and cheap!) project and one we have done many times before...we have done our succulents in white as well as gold and the result is always so rad - the succulents wind up looking almost like they are made of ceramic or clay!

once we lit the mercury glass candles it really did look magical!!

we filled glass cylinders with a little bit of faux snow and a white pillar candle to give that cool, winter feeling...

and of course i had to blog a photo of my bossy girl!! she pretty much has been by my side non-stop the last 2 months since we got her and i took her on this install with me too :)
