This wedding was LOADED with killer vendors...
Carrie Zack of Carrie Zack Events
Ryan Phillips of Ryan Phillips Photography
the list goes on...plus the Bride herself is an amazing business owner who launched Pussy and Pooch, an innovative and unique pet boutique catering to pet owners living in, and visiting, downtown Los Angeles...
What a treat to work with so many talented professionals!

tres LA event - oviatt penthouse, downtown

Tres LA hosted an amazing 5 course dinner party set among the lights of downtown Los Angeles...the event was to re-introduce some of LA's hottest event planners and wedding professionals to the delicious fare from Tres LA...

Danielle (Sales Manager) and Alan (Owner) from Tres LA asked me to come up with the design scheme for the evening...we settled on Moulin Rouge meets burlesque. Black candle sticks held arrangements overflowing with Black Magic roses and curled black ti leaves. Petite black urns were accented with crystal trim and packed full of Black Bacarra roses. Red glass votive candles and black chandeliers from The Lighter Side added a warm ambiance to the Oviatt Penthouse.

Check out the amazing shots below captured by Victor Sizemore:

I asked Young from Wildflower Linens to come up with something sexy for our tables and chairs and she went above and beyond! Deep merlot taffeta linens were layered with black silk runners and merlot napkins. The black chiavari chairs were each capped with a merlot chair cushion, a sheer black corset and finally accented with 3 feather-like floral pins. The linens were to die for!

Margaret and Stephanie from Mimio designed a GORGEOUS menu card, completely covered in a black and gray velvet swirl fabric and accented with a black rhinestone brooch. Curtis from Classic Party rentals provided the tables, chairs, black chargers and everything else we needed to make the night a success...

photo shoot for ceremony magazine

Last fall I had the opportunity to design 2 tablescapes for the Los Angeles 2008 edition of Ceremony Magazine. I love participating in things like this because it gives me free range to design whatever I want and whatever best reflects the style of JL Designs...The magazine has already hit newstands so pick up a copy because it is loaded with killer design ideas and gorgeous floral spreads!

The following was shot by the fantastic gals from Frame 36 Photography...they were so much fun to work with and I am officially obsessed with their gorgeous boudoir sessions for brides!
