emi and shingo - the langham hotel, pasadena

emi and shingo held their wedding at the langham hotel in pasadena (formerly the ritz-carlton). they chose a color scheme of platinum, cream and royal blue. their coordinator, carolyn chen of the special day, was impeccably organized and creative throughout the entire planning process...so it was no wonder their wedding day was one of the easiest installs i have ever done!

emi and shingo were just the SWEETEST couple and it was such a pleasure to be a part of their wedding day...

the groom bucked tradition and wore gray and black vans with his tux...

each boutonniere was wrapped in silver bullion wire...
emi started out the day in a traditional "princess" wedding dress...but after the ceremony she changed into a more modern, form-fitting gown...i love when a bride has two "looks" on her wedding day...whether it's changing her dress, her shoes, her hairstyle or even her bouquet at some point in the night, i say "go for it!"...hollywood starlets do it at awards shows, so why not you? this is YOUR night!
emi and shingo are major dog lovers (they have 3 dogs!) so they decided to name each of their dinner tables after names of dogs ("spot", "fido", etc.)...fun!

the royal blue accents were distributed throughout the day...the bridesmaids dresses, water dyed blue during the cocktail hour, royal blue satin napkins, royal blue dupioni silk wrapped around each vase, blue scroll pattern on the printing...but the lighting was the huge WOW factor...

each vase was adorned with a platinum band of satin ribbon and a rhinestone buckle...arrangements were made up of solid white floral (hydrangea, dahlias, reflexed roses, lisianthus, phalenopsis orchids) - no leaves or filler! every arrangement was lush and full...
the platinum taffeta linens and royal blue satin napkins came from wildflower linens...one of my faves...the silver chairs were from chameleon chairs...
carolyn's team wrapped every napkin in white satin ribbon and a rhinestone buckle...

the bride and groom paid homage to their asian heritage with drummers that entertained the guests...

huge thanks to todd johnson photography for capturing everything so beautifully!!!
