a modern black, white and aqua photo shoot

shoot style: young, modern, glamorous with a subtle craft feel
inspirations: z gallerie catalog meets martha stewart living
color scheme: black, white, aqua
elements: louis chairs, finials, embroidery hoops, thread spools, stripes and graphic prints, ceramic artichokes, home decor pieces

partners in crime:
courtney toney of joyful weddings and events

this shoot was put together for the jessica claire photography workshop and when courtney toney asked me to come on board i knew we would come up with something fab! well....what do you think?

courtney's adorable ring bearer pendants which she sells in her etsy shop, joyful joyful...

a bouquet of black and white anemones with curled black ti leaves and finished in a graphic black and white trim combo...

courtney and i have been dying to use embroidery hoops since the end of last year so when we were brainstorming we knew we couldn't pass up the chance to use them for the ceremony...courtney created these using patterned fabrics as well as custom paper from the girls at posh paperie...

i accented each hoop with black and white anemones...

and tied on a cluster of white china mums to each ceremony chair...

the table and chairs were brought in by luxe event rental and i topped off the black runner with various types of white ceramic vases, lidded jars, artichokes and candlesticks...we also added some glass vases that we wrapped in our custom paper and filled with white floral...

cute little placecards attached to thread spools that courtney painted black...

bridesmaids gifts in custom boxes from posh paperie...

a fun little lounge vignette with whimsical props like finials, a "hand" bookend and a white ceramic life sized dog (that we promptly nicknamed and used as our mascot for the day)...

melody's dessert spread was ridiculous!

a simple cake that she accented with black pleated ribbons and trims we gave her so that everything would be coordinated...she added one of her famous edible brooches in an aqua color...

cookies on a stick, set in custom trays we designed...

more cute embroidery hoops from court were attached to the front of the dessert table...

whoopie pies - i ate, oooohhhhh, about 10 that day :)

some gorgeous light for the last couple shots of the day!

a huge thank you to abby of style me pretty for featuring this shoot on her blog! to read the article, click here...
