mollie and jim - bel air bay club, pacific palisades

bridal bouquet made up of white mini calas, white ranunculas, white japhette orchids and white tulips...adorned with a vintage inspired rhinestone brooch...

i am obsessed with these bridesmaids dresses! so chic!

a super simple chuppah structure made up of black dupioni silk wrapped bases, black bamboo poles, off white chiffon fabric and mounds of fluffy white hydrangea...

square trays were wrapped in black dupioni silk and filled with white rose petals to shower the newlyweds as they recessed down the aisle...

a quad of tall glass rectangular vases were filled with submerged white dendrovium orchids and set on top was a large arrangement made up of ivory hydrangea, ivory dahlias, cream colored reflexed roses, white tulips and white ranunculas...

a medium sized box was wrapped in taupe dupioni silk and accented around the base by a ring of loose white floral...set on top was a series of 5 different height rectangular vases holding submerged white dendrovium orchids and a white floating candle...

a quiet moment alone for the bride and groom just before the guests entered the ballroom...

this wedding was a dream to work on! the bride had such a killer sense of style due to the fact that she worked in the fashion industry...and although it was my first time working at bel air bay club, i am hooked! it is such a beautiful venue with an amazing view!

a HUGE thanks to kathy and susan of bella weddings and events for bringing me in on the job! you are always so fab and fun to work with!

also i must shout out nathan from lighten up for giving the ballroom the most inviting warm glow on that gloomy, rainy day...to chameleon chairs for their exceptional line of couture seating...and to elegant designs for the beautiful linens - true ambiance! flowers are nothing without these extra decor items...

and to michael and emi from evoke photography - are you kidding me?! i had WAAAYYY too may images to choose from! you are just too dang good at your craft :)

ceremony magazine 2009 photo shoot #2 - Balboa Bay club

sooooo, here is the 2nd table scape i designed for ceremony magazine's 2009 orange county edition...for this setup we went with a dark purple, magenta, black and white color scheme incorporating cameos, damask, feathers and crystal trim...very glam and very bold! this color scheme definitely makes a statement and this purple toned magenta is a sexier, more sophisticated alternative to hot pink...

the bouquet was made up of fuschia peonies, purple mokara orchids, curled black ti leaves, eggplant mini cala lilies and black feather trim. accenting the handle were 5 black and white rhinestone brooches and cameos of varying sizes...

the boutonniere was made up of a black ti leaf, eggplant mini cala lily, black feathers and a black rhinestone accent...
3 black candlesticks held a long arrangement made up of all purple and dark fuschia phalenopsis orchids, mokara orchids and dendrovium orchids...

i got this frame from ikea and we hot-glued dark purple dendrovium orchid blooms all over the face of it...this would look amazing hung on a ballroom wall over your placecard table...

the menu cards were wrapped in a damask velvet fabric and tied off with black satin ribbon and a matching black rhinestone brooch...

black crystal beaded trim lined the bottom of the arrangement...

thank you to the following vendors for all their hard work!
photography: barnet photography, c/o ceremony magazine
chairs, chargers, glassware, flatware, plates: unique tabletops for classic party rentals
linens, runner and napkins: wildflower linens
menus: mimio, the artistry of paper

sarah and greg - doubletree, santa barbara

sarah and greg were SUCH a blast to work with. they are so hilarious together and you cannot help but love them! they chose the beautiful doubletree resort in santa barbara as their setting and the weather could not have been more gorgeous!! carrie and ryan phillips, as always, did an amazing job capturing the details!

the groom owns his own landscaping business so the couple wanted to reflect a bit of that into their wedding day. with a color scheme of black, white and green, we utilized feminine white florals including hydrangea, reflexed roses, tulips and ranuculas, peppered with masculine green "plant-like" florals including horse tail, ti leaves, anthirium, scabiosa pods and succulents.

the ring bearer "pillow" was made up of horsetail reeds, green moss and fuzzy succulents...

the boutonnieres consisted of organic looking scabiose pods and succulents...

vases of black rocks, black manzanita branches and green cymbidium orchids lined the aisle...

we wrapped each chuppah base in white suede and filled them with fresh lemon leaf, hanging amaranthus, white hydrangea, white reflexed roses and green bells of Ireland...smylax garlands were carefully woven around each pole and the chuppah covering was hand made by a relative of the bride's as a keepsake for their special day...

each of the tall centerpiece vases were completely wrapped in horse tail reeds...every piece was glued on by hand!

for the cake, we hand glued horse tail around the entire base and filled in the rest with black rocks and green moss. the cake layers were accented with small clusters of green rustic hydrangea, succulents and scabiose pods...
